Why Greenhouse shows up in so many searches

If you are applying to product and engineering teams, a large share of the real postings live on a company Greenhouse board — not on a scraped marketplace. The JD, the location, and the apply form are whatever that company published. Losing that context in a spreadsheet row is how follow-up dies.

MyCareerAtlas treats Greenhouse as a first-class source: discovery from public boards, match against Career Memory, and in-tab assist on greenhouse.io. It does not pretend to be Greenhouse itself.

How discovery actually works

After you confirm Career Memory and target tracks, up to three job searches can start from those tracks. Discovery reads a curated directory of public Greenhouse boards (the same Job Board API companies already expose), then normalizes title, company, location, remote, and JD into one catalog.

That catalog is what ATS job search and daily matches draw from. Listings not seen in 14 days drop out of feeds. If boards are not seeded or the discovery worker is down, the UI shows status instead of fake jobs.

You can also open a Greenhouse posting yourself. The Chrome extension can ingest that URL into the same catalog so a role you found by hand still gets a score, a ticket, and a save/skip path.

Match before you apply

A Greenhouse listing in Recommended is not a firehose item. It includes dimension scores, a WHY, and missing skills taken from JD requirement phrases versus skills you confirmed. The point is a decision you can defend: pursue, save, or skip.

What the extension does on greenhouse.io

Open a Greenhouse job or apply form. The side panel can detect the host, pull the posting, show strengths and gaps against Career Memory, and prefill answers you have already verified — phone, work authorization, links, prior screening answers.

Prefill is gated on a short approval window so a stale tab cannot silently fill a form. Duplicate checks can warn before you apply twice to the same role. The extension does not click Submit. You do.

Submit stays on you

Assisted Auto Apply can prepare a Career Ticket from a Greenhouse match and wait in Action Required. You review gaps, confirm answers, and approve. Status becomes Applied only after a confirmed submission you authorized — or after you answer “Did you apply?” when detection is only medium or low confidence.

A live POST to Greenhouse’s public Job Board API exists as an opt-in path. It is off by default, dry-run by default, requires explicit per-application approval, and writes an audit row. Lever, Ashby, Workday, and LinkedIn stay extension-assisted or manual. Silent auto-submit is not a feature.
